Synvisc-One VS Euflexxa Comparison

Synvisc-One VS Euflexxa Comparison

In recent decades, there is a tendency that diseases become “younger”, including those, which were mainly associated with senility and elderly people. According to the last information, every third person on the earth experiences pain in joints, and the doctors distinguish over 300 types of diseases, which can provoke it. One of the major causes of joint problems is the general aging of the body. During the lifetime, they accumulate the consequences of the reliving diseases, poor quality food, bad ecology, which finally leads to the lack of synovial fluid (natural lubricant, which helps the joints to move without friction), and as a result, pain in knees, shoulders, elbows, and hips.

Fortunately, modern medicine offers various ways of medication and non-medication prevention and treatment of joint problems, including massages, physical training therapies, diets, creams, painkillers, and of course, injections. The last method is recommended to the patients with serious joint problems and implies fluid infection to the knee joints, which is supposed to replace the synovial fluid. Although the drug market offers a great variety of similar remedies, in this article, we will compare two of them: Euflexxa vs Synvisc-One.

What is Synvisc-One and Euflexxa?

Synvisc-One is an elastoviscous high molecular weight fluid, which contains Hylan A and Hylan B polymers, and is used to replace the synovial fluid in joints.

Euflexxa is another hyaluronic acid fluid, which is injected directly into the knee and ceases the pain in the joint.

Synvisc-One is prescribed to the patients, who suffer from knee pain caused by osteoarthritis, and other comprehensive nonpharmacologic therapies turned to be ineffective.

Euflexxa is also a remedy used to relieve knee joint pain caused by osteoarthritis, and when other simple medications, physical therapies, and exercises did not give the desired result.

Methods of Application and Dosage

Both Synvisc-One and Euflexxa are single-dose treatments, which are injected directly into the knee joint.

The intra-articular injection of Synvisc-One is made to the patient by a course of three injections in total, one injection per week.

Euflexxa injection is performed also by a course of one injection once every week from 3 to 5 weeks accordingly.

Precautions and Side Effects

It is important to keep in mind that both remedies cannot be given to patients under 21 years old, patients, who are allergic to any component of the treatment, have blood clots in the leg, and can have unexpected consequences for the pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Synvisc side effects and Euflexxa side effects include:

  • pain or swelling in the injected knee
  • problems with moving the leg and walking
  • swelling or numbness in limbs
  • headaches
  • nausea and vomiting

Pricing and Cost

It turns out that Synvisc injections cost more than Euflexxa injections. The only point is that you may need up to 5 Euflexxa injections, while you will not need to buy more than 3 Synvisc One injections that can level up the total amount spent on the course of treatment.

If you wonder where you can find and purchase any of these remedies, you may buy Euflexxa online, as well as a Synvisc One at, and your order will be shipped out on the next day.
